Personally I don't endorse wet playing. You are better off buying a decent
wet clean / vacuum cleaning type machine and cleaning your records properly.
After several cleans, usually the noise level is lowered considerably. If
not, the record is probably beyond resurrection, so use whatever method you
want to. You've probably got nothing to lose except possibly damaging the
stylus, cantilever or suspension system in your cartridge if water or fluid
get into it from wet playing. Not to mention the corrosion effects on the
cartridge internals. :-(
