Not really. Bass has specific problems not encountered int he mid
range. These are thermal problems to do with the temperature of the
transistor die not remaining constant throughout the cycle of the
wave. For low end bass, the temperature can go up and down quite a few
degrees. Because the upper and lower transistors are in opposite
phase, the bias point changes through the cycle of the wave. This can
lead to distortion. Of course there is no shortage of feedback to help
deal with this, but this problem certainly exists for bass, while it
doesn't for mid range. You can see the rise in distortion at bass
frequencies for many commercial amps.
Obviously digital amps don't suffer this problem.
