Is their really no aftermarket "aux" in kit for the Volvo?

Not that we're aware of.

Is the Dension FM Modulator option significantly better than an
i-trip?

FM modulators are a totally different ball game from FM transmitters
and generally give OK quality - but can occasionally cause a slight
reduction in radio reception, as they fit in line in the aerial cable.

If you're looking at FM modulators as the only option, we'd recommend
looking at Connects2's iPlugRDS. It fits in the same way as a
traditional FM mod then utilises the RDS system to give ID3 tag
display on the original head unit - which I think is actually a pretty
cool bit of inspired thinking by whoever came up with the idea. The
only issue you might have with this (or any other similar product) is
that your car probably has proprietary aerial connectors - so you may
have to cut the aerial cable and graft DIN connectors inline
somewhere.

Thanks Jon. Seems like a good option.
From my sketchy understanding the ID3 Tag will display one the head
unit - aside from that it'll perform just like a normal modulator. Am
I right?

I won't be fitting it myself so would need a decent supplier/fitter-
either in London or Suffolk - any suggestions?

Thanks
