Just brainstorming as I'll be changing the car next year...
Car is a 2003 Audi A4 Quattro.
Currently got a Sony MDX-CA580 head unit, MDX-66LP MD changer and
Connects2 iPodUnilink adaptor running through a JBL GTO-4000 amplifier
powering the front speakers and 2x10" subs in the boot. Rears run
through the Audi active system with a Vibe DeltaBox to boost the line
levels.
Two issues really...
Firstly I don't think I've actually used the MD deck or changer since
refitting the system (had a MEX-1HD but the drive failed, bought an iPod
and adaptor and put the old system back in less CD changer).
Secondly I'm thinking of having the NaviPlus DVD system in the next car.
This is a double height unit with a 4" screen. Normally you have a 6 CD
changer with this unit, but you can also have an iPod adaptor which
allows you to view playlists etc on-screen.
The unit also has two SD/MMC slots allowing solid state MP3 storage.
Apparently these will take up to a 4GB card each, so the capacity of two
iPod Nanos. Although I have a 60GB iPod Video, so they wouldn't come
close to that.
The NaviPlus also apparently has Bluetooth support for hands-free phone
operation (I currently have a CK-1W doing this job).
If I were to have this unit along with the Bose sound system, how would
this sound compared to the Sony/JBL setup I've got currently?
Would I be better waiting for a Sony head unit with integrated Bluetooth
and sat-nav and sticking with aftermarket kit?
