OK, I've got a mystery I need cleared up before I can do anything else:

If I record in Stereo (with the amp's balance swung over to one speaker, in
front of the single mic) I get this:

If I set the recording software (Sound Forge) to Mono, with *nothing else*
changed I get this:

Note the 'upper limit' differences - what is going on here that I should
know?

(Excuse slightly different start points/lengths on what should be identical
clips!!)


Baffled? I know I am....!! ;-)
