Can anyone recommend headphones in the £40 - £75 range for use with a

wouldnt be used out-and-about so size, trendiness etc is not important.
I like the Beyers and Sennheisers.

I'd say go to a decent store and try some out. Personally I've got
Sennheiser HD600s which I love; they're out of your price range but
definitely give some of the other Sennheisers a try.
By the way, if anyone convinces you to try Bose, give them a *very* long
test. On first impression they sound impressive but as far as I can tell
it's a very unnatural sound that will quickly get tiring.
Apart from Sennheiser and Beyer, it could be worth giving Sony a try. I used
to have a couple of pairs and found them very comfortable and pretty good
for the price.
Anyone here got the Bayer DT100 cans?, is it me or do they sound very
coloured in comparison to most anything else?..
I had a pair for about a week. The only reason I didn't get rid of
them earlier was that I was busy. In the end I bought a pair of Stax,
and have never felt any inclination to buy anything else since. The
sound is essentially perfect, and they have almost no ear pressure so
I can use them for hours.
