IMNSHO those are NOT true Nixie tubes. They are vacuum flourescent (sp?) or
fluorescent
something. I used to have a larger unit with several digits. These have a
heater to provide electrons which hit the seven segments coated with
flourescent stuff that glows that characteristic green.

Nxie tubes are _entirely_ different. The seller is being misleading
Nixie
by claiming they are Nixie tubes, which those are NOT.
Nixie tubes have 10 (for numeric ones) wires formed in the shape of
the digits 0 to 9, and are surrounded by neon, and there's, IIRCD, a
IIRC
mesh cage around the assembly to form the other electrode. There is
no concept of "seven segment", though a nixie tube could probably be
devised that did use seven segments. The key though, is that the light
comes from a neon glow around the shaped wire of the required digit.
Nixie tubes do NOT require, or have, a heater.

Sorry for ****-ups. Very early in the morning for a saturday!
