Anybody any experience of the Marantz PMD660...??

I'm toying with the idea of mooching about (next year, probably) with a
view to grabbing 'naturally occuring sounds' - up to very loud, close-up
WW2 aircraft engines, possibly. Are these gadgets up to it, or are they
really only close-range voice recorders?

I'm kinda dismissing the Edirol, Nagra and Maycom options on the same
page, but the Fostex looks interesting...??

Why not a laptop with a USB sound card?

Got both them here, but not in any way practical - I need to be able to 'get
right amongst it' - see:

- note the flapping trousers!! ;-)

Blimey Keith, no wonder you like horns, your hearing must be shot, I
SAID YOUR HEARING MUST BE SHOT.

To give you a clue, I got doinked on the head by the wing of this one, when
it was being manhandled off the field!!

:-)

And why sodding CF cards - is there a particular reason...??

I HAVE (oops, sorry, still shouting), a Fostex Pocketstudio 5 which is a
neat little device, though I don't suppose you would need the built in
drum 'n' bass.
