Cannot give polite comments on old Sansui speakers that only produced
distortion and only 150 pounds/pair, to replace them with right?

I have an ancient pair of humongous floor standing Sansui sp 7300
speakers which my father envies. He says that the quality compared to his
speakers at home is brilliant. He wants a replacement pair of proper
speakers , listens to classical and bras music, is a REAL musician (not
like me) and so has a good ear for sound.

What could I get him for his birthday that are in the £150 price range?
Would a trip to RicherSounds be useful?
Is it best to buy new on the basis that technology is always improving
the sound/product?

Any polite thoughts welcome peeps.

We are close to 2007, so your not going to be able to find anything
with 1950 prices. Realistically One Fifty Pounds [ $450 ] is only going
to buy you a reasonable set of leads.
It comes down to you only get what you pay for. Sorry.

Probably a trip to "Richer" would help, but only to inform you about
what's available, and what you can expect to pay. I.E. add another
nought to your price
