Yep mate I went and bought myself a surge protector from KMart for $20
and that's done the trick.

Though a sales guy from Audio Trends Ringwood Vic tried his best to
convince me that his $300 power chord will 'make' my Rotel CD player
sound 15% better I am not that gullible.
