Otherwise, I've been using Dayton Audio PT-2 at about 30 quid. Sounds
very nice to my ears.

Seems that ribbon tweeters have made it into ubiquitous consumer product.

Amazon still have a few for USD245.

I bought a brand new pair of the speakers only (this is the 50W version) from
the local Philips agent late last year for approx equiv. GBP45. I've only
played them a few times - got them to take on a family reunion trip as
passable portable hifi (paired with a Cyrus 1 & a discman;-)) and was
gobsmacked at the bass depth for one thing (the Cyrus has no tone controls,
and the discman had a lline-out - no "megabass" setting used) from such
diminutative speakers, but the tweeter (my first ever ribbon) seems very nice
too. They're still packed away, awaiting serious investigation and use ...

Never got a chance to see the complete system - the speakers were extra pairs
sold as clearance product; might've been less unwieldy than the Cyrus ...
