Precisely. Most contemporary consumer audio reviews appear to be
written by people whose greater strength is journalism, not
engineering or any other form of science. And that's the mainstream
press. When you get into high end audio, you find reviewers whose day
job involves homeopathic medicine or TM.

One wonders what is going through his mind when he posts this sort of
thing to a UK newsgroup - unless he gets and reads UK audio
magazines...??

Been known to read UK audio magazines, along with the idea that some UK
audiophiles just might be cosmopolitan enough to read ragazines from
other countries including the US and Germany.

It is also the case that some journalists/writers/reviewers write for both
US and UK consumer magazine. I know of current examples in both
'directions'. My impression is that similar types of material appear both
sides of the pond, although for obvious reasons the kit reviewed can vary.

Slainte,

Jim
