Default Extending speaker input cables

Can't see any problem with extending cables as you describe. The little box
with a screw in the middle sounds like a normal mains junction box, and that
will be fine, as will the cheaper if less aesthetic "chock-block".

Just make sure you get all the 'speakers correctly phased, i.e. all the same
way round or you won't get correct phantom images.

I recently bought a second hand 5.1 speaker system for my pc at a really
cheap price, the only down side is that the 3 cables that have 3.5 mm

jacks
on are cut in half so I can't connect them to my pc sound card. How easy
would it be to connect wire to the end and then fit a 3.5mm jack on? I

have
seen something which is like a little box with a screw in the middle for
connecting two pieces of speaker cable, could I use that and then get a
speaker connectiong kit for the end of the cable?

Many thanks for your help

Daniel
