sister-in-law,
: who works in Sainsbury's, can get one for £31.50 would you believe!!!

(Staff

naturally.
You

Sainsbury's
: staff are snapping them all up as they come in for Christmas

presents!)

What brands, out of interest?
These went down to NZD$129 (about GBP$48 now) before they sold out.

There are similiarly priced Musteks about, too.
(I still can't afford one yet though!)

I don't know yet - he don't get it until tomorrow (it's a 'sister in law

is
buying it' kinda thing).

I suspect it'll be a Mico as Swim was up in Dundee (that's in Scotland -

not
Dunedin NZ!!) recently and there were selling Mico DVD Recorders for 199
UKP. Which is very cheap, but not to be recommended as they are based on

the
Philips +RW engine (AFAIK) which, I'm sorry to say (especially as I have

a
sodding Ricoh +RW burner) is actually a pile o' ****e!

(The only DVD Recorder which makes sense is the Panasonic DMR-E50 with its
100% reliability and the all-important Time Slip functionality - pay less
than 300 UKP on the Net.)

No reason to suspect the MiCo (?) players won't be fine and dandy though,
especially at silly prices like these - like Daniel says, you can have 'em
dotted about all over the house for what they cost!

Try playing a dvd-ram disc in anything else though, +rw makes far more
sense.
