Hi guys,

I purchased a set of new Sennheiser HD-555 from a local hifi shop.
They sound really good but at high volumes, low frequencies seem to
crack them. At lower volumes all sounds good.

My older $20 TDK's (though though not as detailed) seem to handle
lower frequencies pretty well or atleast gracefully attenuate them.

Is this something common to the HD-555's? Is it a technical fault with
the headphones? Or do I leave them to 'burn in' for a little longer
before reving them at high volumes?

Cheers

How loud are you running these things? And does the noise happen in
both ears or just the one? They should certainly be working straight
out of the box, and your description sounds like you may be turning
them up too far - either for your ears or for the amplifier that is
driving them.

Hi,

The burping has been noticed on both channels actually depends on the
recording really.

Well if it was the case of a dodgy amp on high volumes then how come
the $20 TDK's don't play up?

I have tried on both my amps and have the same problems.

Cheers
