Has anybody any info on sound bars particularly the Denon models?
What's a 'sound bar' ?
It's a home theater speaker system, 'single-speaker surround,' that
simulates surround from a single enclosure (sometimes plus a sub) that
can sit on the television.

They might well give a pleasing effect, but accurate they won't be!!!
Surround sound is mastered with the assumption of reproduction through 5
'speakers, in a circle around the listener, with 90 degrees between the Lf
and Rf and 110 degrees between the surrounds, and a centre channel
obviously directly in front. Any other arrangement will result in inaccurate
placement. Consequently, a "surround" system that has all the loudspeakers
in front, whatever the DSP that drives them, will not provide accurate
surround. As I said, the effect may well be pleasant, but it won't be
accurate.
