I've been thinking about getting a demagnetizer to make my old
records
sound better. I've seen them advertised and wondered if they were any
good and what kind of difference I could expect once I've invested in
one.
This is to go with my old Amstrad stack unit which is in my bedroom.
Do you think it would be a worthwhile buy for me?

TIA

Nope

I think he gotcha there, Dave...

;-)

Whilst ordering the demagnitiser, also buy a green felt tip pen, when drawn
around the outer edge of a cd it causes the red visible portion of the laser
to be absorbed rather than reflecting back giving better resolution of the
pits in the cd. Remember too to align your speakers N-S so the Earths
magnetic field doesn't dampen the speakers magnets. Finally, if you soak
your Amstrad system in parafin and then ignite it , outside of course, this
coming Monday night (5th Nov )then you can get more entertainment value from
it........

ok, I had three pints at lunch today :-)
