Please, can some kind soul tell me what format I should convert them
to for this to happen?
An audio CD stores data in a form very close to 44.1/16 wav format.
But you don't have to worry about this. The program you use to burn
the CD will almost certainly accept MP3 files and convert them
transparently.
Open your CD burning application. Make sure you tell it to make an
Audio CD rather than a Data CD. Give it the list of MP3 files you
want to burn. It will do the rest.
