Default MLSSA measurement system on eBay

Hi, i've used MLSSA previously and found that some of the measurement
ability such as 'group delay' don't seem to be present more modern
systems...
can you recommend any alternative systems that you feel would suit a small
budget?

I'm using Liberty Praxis. It does appear to have a group delay option,
although I've never tried it. Generally I find it technically good,
although I personally find the user interface awkward and it takes getting
used to. I also think it has a few bugs although these probably wouldn't
affect loudspeaker measurement. One interesting thing about this software,
is that almost all functions can be used from the free demo mode provided
you are prepared to work from recordings rather than use the software to
output the test signal and make the measurement directly. It's obviously
not a fast way to work but it does allow you to try out the functions and
get a good feel for the software. Of course one thing that wouldn't work is
group delay, because using recordings loses the absolute time information.

I have to say you will find it slow to use compared to MLSSA but that
probably applies to all modern software! One thing I miss a lot is the
ability to set a post-processing option (for example smoothing) and have it
automatically applied to all measurements. Another is the ability to hold a
trace on the screen for comparison, without having to save it to a file and
re-load. But Praxis also does things that MLSSA can't. If you want to
carry on this discussion outside the group, use the contact form on my web
