I came accross this manufacturer
http://www.h-cat.com/
The technique sounds convincing but the
technical explanation is way over my head.
Has anyone experienced this brand and could
an expert type have a look at the bumf, and
give a verdict, does it make sense or is it
a solution to a none problem?

100% extra virgin snake oil, the old technique, invent a problem and then
provide an expensive solution to it.

They can't even get their physics right:-

" There is only one other place in nature where this caliber of accuracy
occurs - and that is when sound waves travel through air at constant speed
of Mach One."

Certainly sound waves travel at mach 1, but mach 1 is not a constant speed,
it depends on the density of the medium which is why you sound like Mickey
Mouse with a lung full of helium, and, in air, it varies with the local
temperature and pressure.

As for an analogue amplifier producing doppler effects, well I suppose there
is one born every minute.
