My sad Pure Legato Story

So I contacted Pure Technical support to ask what to do, as I cannot
prove it is still in warranty, they refer me to the company that handles
repairs whose web site is at http://www.radiofix.co.uk/. (If you take a
look at the site among other things you will notice that the Legato 2,
which is still being sold, is unrepairable once the 2 year warranty is
up.).
Take a trip to your local CAB or Trading Standards. EU/UK Law now requires
consumer items like these to work reliably, or be servicable, or for a
replacement of the same functionality to be available for the cost of
repair, for a period of up to 5/6 years from the point of sale.
If the makers/sellers are directing you to a repair company who can't do
this, then they are failing as the 'agent' of the makers/sellers, and it is
the responsibility of the makers/sellers to ensure they *can* comply with
consumer law. Note, though, that the legal responsibilities are by default
with the retailers, not the makers.
Slainte,

Good point actually although why anyone would want such a piece of crap
replaced is beyond me.
