I think the Wharfedale DV832B has a channel display on the front.
Currently at or under £20. You'll need to connect a telly to get it
set up initially.
Yup. It's got a bright red LED display - mine's hidden as the box is
under control of a TiVo and it is rather *bright*.
Does the display just give the actual channel number - or can it give one
you've allocated yourself? This device will be mainly used for the BBC -
so it would make things easier if R1 displayed 1, and R2 2 etc rather than
701 and 702 - although it's only a minor point.
Some owners on digital spy's forums have complained about random sound
drop out issues though. Do a search on there for "dv832b sound". I've
noticed it as well, happens once in a blue moon.
Sounds like the old Philips OnDodgy box that's being used at the
moment. ;-)
There is a later version dv832bn - that may have this fixed.
