I had a quick play, it doesn't seem possible. You can make a short list
of favourite channels to quickly hop through, change their label to show
in the EPG but the red display stays the same.

Have a look at Argos, there seem to be other STBs with a front display
of sorts. For instance

* Bush DFTA 16
* Acoustic Solutions DV600B
* Hitachi HDB72 Digital Set Top Box

Got a feeling the innerds of these are all similar.
