Very interesting to me because I built a pair of IPL S5TL transmission lines
about 2 years ago. Took lots of pics intending to put my experiences up on a
website but never got around to it. My experience mirrors yours...I had a
pair of 30 yo Wharfedales with bass driver surrounds full of holes and
decided to update.
The only difference was that I bought the mdf locally and cut out the
cabinet parts myself. Like you, I finished my cabinets/bases in satin black
paint and they look just like yours :-)
After 2 years I'm still very pleased with them...especially the accurate
bass that makes its presence clearly felt without the excessive
booming/thudding so prevalent among retail home cinema type setups. IMO, as
always.
Mr. Leslie is an excellent and knowledgeable guy to deal with and his
products are great.
