Default 'Decca Sound'?

Whatever it was, it's gone now.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obit...r-Raeburn.html

'He was, with Erik Smith and John Culshaw, the progenitor of the "Decca
sound",
the unique timbre that emerged from that once-great powerhouse of
classical music recording.'

Was this an obituary? That's very sad.

I knew Christopher Raeburn quite well. He was a very
fine classical producer, a world expert on Mozart and
a real old-fashioned getleman.
