Default Dynaudio speakers back from the menders . . .

You might have been able to get the law behind you about fixing them for
nothing though. I do find that if you make the point that the law has been
changed and warranties are not set in stone any more that a surprising
mumber of folk suddenly have a better attitude. I guess its let the willing
and ignorant pay in the current economic climate.

I posted a while ago about a rattle from one of my Dynaudio Contour 1.1
speakers.

It was a bass unit - the guy (Moorgate Acoustics, Sheffield) didn't know
what had gone wrong. It was broken, needed replacing, so he replaced it.
£130. One of the irritations of Dynaudio - they won't sell direct to
owners.

As for pair matching (only one was replaced) he said they were within
tolerance, and that there was no need to replace the bass unit on the
other speaker.

So, there we are. Disappointed with reliability and cost of repair,
especially as they were just out of warranty. Delighted they're back -
really are a step above the Dynaudio 42s I've been using, and so much
easier to live with than ESLs while sounding similar.
