om...
Lke many over 55 yr olds I have lots of rare virtually unplayed vinyl.

What the Net need is

A Place where I can see if my ancient vinyl exists on cd
A place where I can price up my vinyl
A place where I can buy a cd of an ancient vinyl (I'm not a
collector, but a music lover)
A place where I can then place a free ad to sell that ancient vinyl.

I just want to automate my record collection and make a small profit
maybe G

(And a Caribbean holidays brochure G)

I bet you don't know any one who has Money by Barrett Strong on a 45
on a British label. You do now ! G I bet this is worth a few
quidloonees.

Hello Phil of Whittlesey (I like that - very mediaeval! :-)

Wotcha got? I could be interested if they're in good (ie playable and with
out any *damage*) condition - like 'digitise' your pick of the records onto
CD for you in exchange for the records themselves or summat. Take look at
http://www.apah69.dsl.pipex.com/keith_g/show/show.htm to give you an idea
(clue: the 01s ain't the same as the 02s.... :-)....

(I don't get into the 'value' of records - a record that's not being played
is an ugly big, black coaster in my book! - If they are truly 'valuable'
you'd better hawk them on eBay....)

Email me with a rough list of the type of thing you've got, if you want.
Otherwise, list them fully and post them on uk.rec.audio.vinyl for starters.

(ie 20 minutes down the road from you, with a following wind.... ;-)
