I did put a post on a legal NG, and some were pretty hostile to the idea
of a warranty claim after 7 years, feeling that such claims would cause
bankruptcy and recession. A point I tried to make was that more than seven
years might be a 'reasonable expectation' - but no, 6 years tops
apparently.


Warranty claims were one of the biggest nails in the Brit Motorcycle
industry - no good issuing warranties on products that were made on old
machinery in outdated factories by a workforce that was being and had always
been treated as mediaeval serfs....
