Iain held some kind of administrative position within

I make no claims about 'technical ability'* but if I were
you and had 'Domine Pt2' floating about the ether I'd
keep very quiet about it, especially after so much
bragging about all the 'pro recording' I'd done, over the
last few decades.

Trust me, those recordings were well-received by the people who paid for
them. They were looking for a certain sound and they've got it. Like it or
not, they were a reasonably accurate representation of the live
performance. A piece of friendly advice - never go to a choir or band
festival. It won't sound like the Philharmonic!

Do I know how to make a more commercial sound? Of course!

To me, that translates: 'It's crap. I know it's crap; I can do better but
the clowns like it as it is, so why should I bother?

Or am I missing summat...??
