Confronted with a sane discussion as to why his intransigent point of
view is wrong - in fact, he painted himself into a corner and I really
did put a reply into Janet and John language for him - he chose not to
answer the discussion and resort to type of 'Phil versus the World at
large'.

But in this case Phil is right and you are wrong.
