So did I ;-) It is the incessant tirade of abuse that can wear any sane
person down after a while. Sigh...... Same abuse just a different group

I found the opposite. With time his incessant tirade of abuse meant less
and less. And, as I said, if it does start to get to you just kill-file
him, it isn't difficult. You can't take it personally as it's just the
same few epithets that are fired off at anybody and everybody for any
reason or none, it'd be funny if it wasn't so sad. Actually I feel sorry
for him as he clearly does have a serious personality disorder.



I agreee with you that to simply "laugh it off" does seem the
best solution, but there is a serious, much more insidious side to
all this.

Consider, David that you are a freelance designer, audio tech,
sound recordist, musician or whatever. You are working hard
trying to build a reputation/ relationship with an important new
client. Or you are a staff engineer going for an interview for a
new post. Your client/future employer types your name into
Google and comes up with an NG thread entitled
"David Looser is a demented pommy f*ckw*t"
This is not likely to make a good impression:-(((

Your client does not know about Phil's illness, or the circumstances,.
just sees the subject line.
