Why not? Music is about sound. Voice is about intelligibility

I disagree with both stereotypes. Music is not just about "sound", it is
also about other things such as rhythm and melody. Whilst speech is about
more than mere intelligibility, voices can have tone, warmth etc., have you
not heard it said that so-and-so has a beautiful speaking voice?
