Guide price for Quad ESL 57 speakers

Having finally succumbed to a new pair of loudspeakers (Quad ESL 2805), I
now have a pair of black Quad electrostatics (ESL 57) for sale. However,
I only have a vague idea as to what would be a fair price for these.
There do not seem to be many of them sold these days in the usual places,
like EBay, and asking prices of the few I have seen have varied greatly.
I have had the speakers for around twenty years and would ideally like
them to go to a good home where they would be used and enjoyed. They were
cleaned internally and serviced a few years ago and are in good working
order. The serial numbers differ by two and I believe they were
manufactured in the late 1970's.
Any advice on pricing would be much appreciated.
If you search on eBay right now you will get 6 results: four of which are
pairs of speakers which include a pair of One Thing serviced at £1,250 BIN,
a pair with one one bid at 9.99/PU only from Barnet, Herts and a pair with
one bid at 99p but with a chunky 185 shipping charge. The first one in the
list with 5 days to go is a 700 quid or Best Offer for a pair of 'seller
refurbished' (Auction/Item No. 250674514092) which may be an off-putter for
many (includes me) but would probably give the best indicator if you keep an
eye on the auction - which IMO is poorly timed, being right in the middle of
the holiday season!
One problem is your extreme location - fie were in the market for a pair I
would expect to have to fetch them and would want an inspection and audition
of them first in any case. Then I would flap cash in your face and 'take
them off your hands' for 500 quid or even less if there was anything
unspectacular about them!
