I live in an affluent community - one of the richest in
the US. I work in the other affluent communities in this
area, some of which show up in the top 5 for the whole
country. As a rule the most wealthy of the wealthy
could care less about high end audio. Boats and other
kinds of lakeside property are far more interesting to
them. Audio is at most an, upper middle class, new rich
thing. Furthermore, few if anybody spends the big bucks
on audio-only AV systems.

If that truly was true though nobody would be selling
them, now would they?

I've been in business long enough to be able to tell the difference
between trying to sell something and actually selling it.

You wouldn't have to sell much of it to make a living. The markup must be
enormous.
