Is BBC TV news in HD at home?

However, a lot of SD segments still get mixed in, even for national news.
The SD clips are often "enhanced" with motion video side panels to conceal
the fact that they are 4:3.
It's at least a decade since UK broadcasters produced anything in 4:3. The
only material broadcast in 4:3 these days are complete programmes from the
archives. If archive clips are included in new documentaries they are
usually cropped top and bottom to 16:9, often at the expense of the original
composition. But a lot of material is still produced in 16:9 SD.
