People seem to not know that I saw that quote in Star Trek's first run.
Long before syndication. First season. NBC.

I was a fan long before it was cool to even know that Star trek existed.

I knew about it well before I had a chance to watch it. :-)

First I saw about it was an article in ye olde 'Analog' magazine. Long
before it turned up on UK TV. I can't now recall if Fantast [1] imported
the old paperbacks before the UK broadcasts or not.

I wonder what John W Cambell would have thought of the idea of debates
being 'policed' rather than 'polite'. 8-]
