Default OK, a reprieve then....

Canford Audio tend to have a good selection of items for this sort of thing.

A pal of mine* who is one of my 'inner circle' (does triodes and vinyl but
not horns only due to lack of space) has a son who wants to record
microphone to computer (guitar and vocals): He knows I do a little of that
myself and has asked me for advice but they want USB connectivity and four
channels which is over my head: I have no experience, I only do mono or
two channels stereo - sometimes direct to computer via USB, sometimes via
a stereo hifi amplifier using XLR to RCA Phono leads.

So the question is: Who is that 'name' that stands out for decent but good
VFM recording gadgets (mixers and the like) - is it Behringer? (Buggered
if I can remember!) And, if so, is there any particular recommendation?

Also, if he wants 4 channels now, what the thinking: get more channels as
he is bound to need them as time goes by? I've no real idea.

Also also, I am under the impression that M-Audio is reputable and
reliable and I have said as much - is that correct, any caveats?

TIA

*Sound familiar? :-)
