Let's face it, this software is pretty lame, Does anyone know where I can
get any info on the protocols used between the units and the PC?.
I'm a pretty experienced programmer, particularly in serial & midi comms.

It
shouldn't be too difficult to improve upon M-Crew if I can get the inside
info.
If I have to analyse and figure out how they speak to each other then

it's a
different story.

There's sod all info on the web about how it works. You are right -
the software is dire and I have considered trying to improve on it.
The M-Crew site seems to have been static since 2002 :-(

Barcoding? http://www.bartec-systems.com

Hi Tim,

I've done projects before where I have had to analyse the comms between
devices and it was hard work and I was getting paid!!!
I don't fancy doing that again. It wouldn't be hard to improve upon M-Crew,
a decent interface that actually remembered settings, less clicks to
download CDDB data, download genre data from CDDB, and actually being able
to print something!!

Delphi is waiting but I don't want to reinvent the wheel
