Well yes, because they were troops. For as long as there have been armies
there has been sexual misbehaviour and sexually transmitted disease amongst
the troops. This does even begin to justify J G Miller's unsupported claim
that "morals in the UKofGB&NI deteroriated badly during the war". And it
certainly does not outweigh the significant improvements in the freedom of
women created by both world wars.
