Further proof, if it were needed, that no modern CD can be taken at face
value. The only way you can be sure that what you're getting is pukka
music that has not been f*cked up is to buy it, analyse it, and then
take it back to the shop and complain if it has been adulterated.
I wish I could disagree. But my recent experience of finding two out of
three Joni Mitchell discs being misrepresented, and audibly level
compressed 'as a CD' seem simply to add one more way for those in the
'music biz' to foul up the results. :-/
FWIW I think I have three different 'CD' versions of DSOTM and two
different LP versions. Alas I think the SACD isn't that easy to buy in the
UK. Like many 'high rez' downloads you seem to have to live in the USA or
somewhere else outside the UK.
