So far, I cannot get it to work with my desktop (64 bit Win 7), but that
is not unexpected, since I often experience issues with this machine.
When I get a chance, I'll try it with my laptop (32 bit Win XP Pro) and
report.
Interesting. :-) Thanks for pointing it out. It looks useful from my POV
in having unbalanced phonos for in and out rather than balanced XLR/jacks.
So more convenient for work with domestic kit.
However I'd not be wanting their software for any test/analysis processes
as I'd write my own. (Indeed, I've have already started on that.) So the
key details for me would be things like if it shows up as a fairly standard
USBAudio set of inputs and outputs. If so, I can then use it with Linux and
RO. If not, no use to me. I'll see if I can contact them or find out more.
The Behringer UCA202 does so show, and I've already used it for test
recordings and signals using RISC OS. The problem being it is limited to a
max of 48k/16. I've now had an auto-reply from Behringer along the lines of
"We'll reply soon" so am hoping for more substance in a day or two.
I bought a copy of 'Sound on Sound' on Friday for the first time in yonks
and had a look at the ads. One does mention a Steinberg UR22 which says it
is 24/192k. But gives almost no other details. Only 99 quid, though. Anyone
know about this?
Will Windows let you get a listing of the QA400's USB endpoint details,
etc? I don't use Windows so would need some details to know if it is stuck
in a 'Windows only' ghetto or not. Hence unless I can get info I'd need to
get a device so I can probe and test its USB interface.
