Default Painting tweeter faceplate

Yes, agreed, painting them probably would affect the value. The ebay
speakers I linked to start at more than list price - and that's
modified. Best of luck with that!

I don't think the dome can be removed, and the faceplates look to be
aluminium. Please excuse my insensitivity, pics here, showing the
painted and originals:

The pictures show a pretty much perfect coat of paint right up to the
fabric looking dome. Also, what look to be security torx bolts on mine. Joy.
