I got one of these machines last week, well actually no my wife went
to Lidl at 8.15am and queued up for one and she was the first in there
so managed to get the preferred colour (black), sick of silver.

When I arrived home from work, it had already been region freed by my
wife and the Macrovision was disabled, and she was happily playing her
jpegs on it anmd then watched her Region 1 films.

We have a Creative Desktop Theatre 5.1 speaker system and that had
been set up and the sound quality was good if not better than the
Goodmans DVD3000 player we had replaced (that had the DTS/5.1 decoder
and cost us £150, but didnt play CDRs, VCDs, or anything else from bog
standard DVDs and CDs).

Its a solid little machine with solid clicky buttons, not those naff
"not sure if you have pushed" buttons, the remote is big but okay, it
does its job.

So all in all Im very happy with this machine, and plus it doesnt
stick out like a sore thumb in my TV cabinet (apart from the little
red light).

Mine's the black version - at last a black dvd player! I'm sick of the

Seconded - a proper bargain.



Also worth a quick mention is that a few seconds 'thumbwork' on the remote
and it can be quickly made 'region free' and the Macrovision disabled.....
