Do you mean you used the Flash plugin with a web browser? (If so, I'll take
windows for granted!)

You may be able resolve this for yourself if you wish by making use of
get_iplayer. That will essentially get you the source file the BBC used.

I can try getting the file for myself. But I don't know if I'd react to it
as you do, and I don't normally listen to it. I find that R4/R4x programmes
vary wildly in sound quality anyway. Made in different ways by different
people.
