Default Audio mags

Le 25/10/15 15:24, Jim Lesurf a écrit :
I'm currently writing about the 'Silicon Era' of Armstrong products - i.e.
covering the 600 and 700 units from 1973 on. As with the earlier 'Eras' I'm
basing this on reporting the content of reviews and adding comments and
recollections.

A problem is that in some cases I have a reprint of a review, but *not* an
actual copy of the magazine. In some cases I don't even know the issue or
have ever seen the magazine! So I'm wondering if someone can help.

Two examples:

Apparently the UK magazine "Audio" did *two* reviews of the Armstrong 626.
The first was in the May 1973 issue. The second was an update reporting
developments to the design "about a year later". I'd like to cover both,
but would like the date of the issue of the second. Indeed, I'd love more
info on the magazine as I can't recall "Audio" at all!

I also have a reprint (translated into English) from a French magazine "Hi
Fi Stereo" which gives no date at all. Again it is interesting as it
reports a "500 hours test", but is hard to use a reference if I can't
specify the issue date. Anyone know about this?

FWIW I've also got fed up with keeping having to search old issues of Hi Fi
News for material. So I've started writing a searchable index. Thus far
I've only done Volumes 1-3 but hope to add others as I get the time - and
the patience! Wondering if others might find it useful if I put a copy up
on the web. Are people interested?

Alas, I only have two of the issues from HFN Vol 1, so the above isn't
complete. Need to get those copies to go though them. If anyone knows of a
source I can get them from *without* having to do so via a 'web only'
faceless method, please say. Afraid I am old-fashioned about how I buy such
things.

Cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim,

I found an edition of HIFI Stéréo dated the 1st September 1975 for sale
on a French on-line sale website. It mentions the Armstrong 626 in its
description. Hope this helps.
