Default Next Armstrong history page

I've just put up the next 'history' page on Armstrong 'recollections and
reviews'. This is at

http://www.audiomisc.co.uk/Armstrong...es/1975-8.html

To an extent this 'reviews the reviewing' of the time. The endgame of the
story will appear on another page covering 78 into the early 1980s. I
decided that trying to cover the entire period and discuss all the factors
*and* the changes to the way reviews were done would make one page too
long! Made longer by the need in some cases to give a simplified
explanation of the technical details that may be needed to understand some
of the things that went on. (And, I fear, may still do!)

The next section will have even more 'inside stories' based on my own
direct experience of reviewers, retailers, etc.

Cheers,

Jim

Apropos the brightness - a spice simulation of the tone control stage
with both controls centred shows a rise of about 2.6 dB between 30Hz
and 3kHz caused by the loading of the feedback network on the split
collector resistor.
