Two were Hi Fi News and Wireless World. Any suggestions as to the

** You sure about Wireless World ?

Most content was highly technical and about electronics in general,
rather than hi-fi audio.

Which was its main appeal afaiwc.

Yes. This would have been 1970-ish, and there were four of us, ranging
in age from late teens (me) to mid 50s, with a wide range of interests.
Wireless World was way over my head, but I enjoyed browsing anyway.

Thanks for *all* the replies. No particular reason for the question; I
am just annoyed with myself for not remembering the titles of all four
magazines. So far, none of the suggestions have made me think Yes!, but
that is probably just my memory.

If it's any help, I was a regular reader of "Wireless World" and, iirc,
"HiFi News" but started reading "Studio Sounds" (as an alternative to HFN
afaicr). The Studio Sounds mag carried more technically interesting
articles on the subject of audio engineering. I suspect it could also
have been one of the other mags you were sharing with your buddies.

I always enjoyed Hi Fi News, which often featured articles discussing
someone's dedicated listening room, and the lengths people would go to
reproduce perfect sound. Shortly after that I left the parental home
and treated myself to a reasonable tuner/amp which is still in daily
use. That was November 1974, and I still don't have the perfect
listening room :-)

You're not alone. :-(
