Is this event frequented only by civilians who are disposing of their
old kit, or dealers too?
Both, some regular civvies seem to make a living on it as well. There's
more interest in tasty old proper kit rather than run of the mill "now
distressed" mass market. More wood & silver than black and late digital.
£30 for a pitch seems a bit much if you don't
end up selling a lot. I shall go next time to get an idea of prices - I
wouldn't want to lug the stuff down there that I've got and then find
none of it sells. Also if there are dealers to see whether I can just
unload the whole lot on them.
Yeah, come on a reconnaissance then.
Maybe bring gear photos and talk to folks - it's a large bit of a social
and dealers, yeah well they have their job. See if others have any
success selling what you might be getting shot of :-)
As in other places sticker prices are always a guide, and so is the time
left to the end of the event, where there then be vultures and traders
with the same "I/you really don't want to take this home, how about..."
discussion.
I typically spend most of the day down there, head off to a nearby
"oriental buffet club" chinese with whatever pound coins I have
remaining. An enjoyable day, and then the autopsy ...
