A complimentary music CD

The term is also shortened to "repro", and is used here in Scandinavia, as is "replication". People involved in CD mastering and manufacture are careful in their terminology. The word "copy" used by the public is never used. "Duplication" would be a good term but that was used for cassette manufacture, and "clone" is rather quaint:-) A CD is in fact a "pressing" but that term is reserved for vinyl.
I can imagine a Japanese becoming very confused with reproduction and
replication, especially if their use gets confused.
Google says: reprocation: 216 results.
reproduction 103 million
replication: 23 million.
216 is a surprisingly low number for a real word. Compare with the 3/4
million for EFM CD, which even has its own wiki page, and must be as
obscure.
