I have 300mm of insulatin, but I have made some stand-offs out of 1 inch
plywood that are glued and bolted to the trusses supporting 4 metres
horizontal lengths of50mm x 50mm timber about 600 mm apart, with MDF
scrap offcuts that B&Q chucked out for 50p a sheet.

Makes crawling around a loft made of modern trusses so much easier
and safer.
